Dan Nelson Plain Vanilla – A Study in White

I have done dozens of paintings of New Bern, North Carolina, a charming little town on the coast of our state. MOST of them are of tree-lined streets and historical buildings; this one is of the old Maola Milk and Ice Cream Plant just outside of town. What attracted me to this scene was that everything in it was WHITE– the road, the cars, the buildings, the clouds. It is a bit of a clinic on “How to Paint White Stuff.” – Dan Nelson
